Plans for Eskaton Village retirement communities are underway in the California cities of Indio as well as in Reno, Nevada.

The Eskaton corporate offices are in Carmichael, a Sacramento suburb.


January 1, 2007 was a landmark day as a new employee health, vision and dental insurance program began, enabling Eskaton to provide benefits at a cost affordable to all employees. An Employee Advisory Committee, representing all of Eskaton’s service lines, played a significant role in restructuring the benefits plan and will monitor the plan’s implementation. Eskaton’s ability to provide outstanding services to its residents and clients depends on its employees. Eskaton has established a working environment in which employees feel they are an essential part of the Eskaton family. Eskaton Villages offer several residential options and service levels (e.g. independent living, independent living with services, assisted living, memory care, and/or nursing care) in a single campus-like location. These communities focus on wellness, independence and aging-in-place. Each Village has a fitness center with indoor pool; a wide range of social and recreational opportunities are available.

Eskaton Lodges are residential living communities that blend private accommodations (apartments and private rooms) with services that enable each individual to remain as independent as possible. The specific services vary from one Lodge to another but may include independent living with services, assisted living and/or memory care.

Eskaton Manors are affordable apartment communities for seniors with limited incomes. Designed for independent living, these communities provide professional management, maintenance and assistance with accessing community resources to meet residents’ needs. Residents do their own shopping, meal preparation and housekeeping. Rental subsidies are available for qualified individuals.

Eskaton Care Centers provide specialized twenty-four hour nursing care that includes short-term rehabilitation; skin and wound care; IV therapy; respiratory therapy; pre- and/or post-surgery care; long-term care for chronic conditions, end-of-life care and respite care.

Eskaton Home Care services include skilled nursing, therapy (physical, occupational, speech), medical social work, homes health aides, homemakers and companions.

Eskaton’s Adult Day Health Care Center promotes the independence and well-being of clients while postponing or preventing hospitalization or long-term care facility placement. The plan of care developed for each client may include social, recreational, nursing, personal care and/or therapy services. A hot noon meal and snacks are part of the program. Assistance with transportation arrangements is also provided.

Eskaton’s Aging Matters program supports older adults and their family members in facing difficulty decisions about senior care. The Aging Matters staff can assist in explaining all available options, resources and services, thereby enabling the people involved to make the best possible choice. The staff can also provide ongoing care coordination and supervision.

Eskaton’s Moving Connections program recognizes that moving to a new home can be stressful for an older adult; downsizing and parting with a lifetime of memories are often overwhelming. Moving Connections staff can guide the older adult and/or family members through this transition by coordinating all or part of the relocation activities.

Eskaton’s Senior Connection provides telephone-based information and assistance to older adults, their family members and caregivers on a wide range of topics of concern to elders including health, housing, insurance, consumer issues, out-of-home placement, in-home care, affordable services, recreational opportunities, volunteerism, etc. Community education classes and appointments with elder law attorneys are also available. These services are free-of-charge.

Eskaton’s TLC telephone reassurance and home visitor program makes daily calls (including weekends and holiday) to isolated seniors to check on their well-being and provide social contact. Scheduled home visits are also part of the TLC program. These services are free-of-charge.
