Job Description
The Underwriter will be responsible for loan-level quality assurance by reviewing loan files, analyzing and reporting on significant loan quality trends and initiating necessary action to mitigate losses.
Job Duties:
•Re-underwrite closed loans for eligibility with respect to various investor guidelines for the purposes of putback and security law claims.
•Perform risk analysis and make decisions regarding deficiencies identified during the review process.
•Identify transaction components that indicate a potential for fraud and perform sufficient investigative work to resolve issues that have been identified.
•Accurately record data using electronic documentation and underwriting tools.
•Communicate the results of file reviews both verbally and in written format to internal and external customers.
Job Requirements
Requirements:
•A minimum of 7 years of underwriting experience, with significant manual underwriting experience.
•Strong understanding of traditional mortgage origination and underwriting practices.
