FOUNTAIN WORKER

PRIMARY TASK

The primary function of this position is to meet and greet carry-out customers in the fountain area, prepare, package, deliver and cash-out guest in a professional, timely and friendly manner, as well as prepare ice cream and fountain items for in-house guest ensuring safety regulations and quality standards are maintained and that customer satisfaction is achieved.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Perform inspection of the fountain workstation, clean mirrors / counters, set-up trash cans, verify supplies and prepare for operations.
• Stock the station with carry-out menus’, promotional items, take-out containers, lids, napkins, straws, plastic ware and bags.
• Set-up soft serve machine, re-stock with product, set-up sanitizer bin, record data in soft serve log, turn on fudge warmer as required.
• Fill toppings, syrups, cones, fruit, whipped cream, candies, nuts, brownies, obtain clean nozzles, scoops, utensils and squeeze bottles.
• Perform weight check with fountain scale, clean shelves, re-stock glass and dishware, set bus pans in place, set-up cash register.
• Refill napkin dispenser, re-stock and scrape ice cream cans in fountain freezers, clean refrigerator and re-stock as needed.
• Clean spills from outside patio, pick up trash, cigarette butts and other non-conforming material from sidewalk and shrubbery.
• Meet and greet adult guests and children at the carry-out counter in a professional, timely, attentive and friendly manner.
• Provide carry-out menu, present featured items, explain menu items and answer questions regarding ingredients and preparation.
• Take guest orders accurately, verify order with guests and enter into computer or present to appropriate kitchen personnel as required.
• Prepare, package and deliver beverage, ice cream and fountain items, deliver food items, condiments and accessories as required.
• Verify order with guest, present guest checks, collect cash / credit cards and cash-out guest in a timely manner.
• Thank the departing guests for their patronage and invite them back for another visit.
• Be alert to potential problems, assist customers, address issues and concerns whenever needed and according to company policy.
• Prepare fountain item for in-house guests, deliver food and beverages, bus, clean and reset tables, load and empty dishwasher.
• Set-up seasonal decorations and promotional material and ensure entire area and products are presentable for sale.
• At the end of the shift breakdown, clean equipment, re-stock section and cash-out with manger and complete all necessary paperwork.

• Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job. 

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma / GED preferred.
• Food Service background / experience preferred.
• Must have excellent people skills.
• Must have basic math skills.
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended period of time.
• Must know safety information regarding all materials used within the scope of the work.
