Description

PRIMARY TASK

The primary function of this position is to prepare hot and cold meals to order for in-house guests and carry-out customers according to accepted methods and recipes in a timely and organized manner ensuring health and safety regulations and quality standards are maintained and that customer satisfaction is achieved.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Check work schedule for assigned duties (grill / cold side), check menu changes, daily specials, promotions and featured items.
  • Perform inspection of the grill and cold side workstations, verify supplies and prepare for operations.
  • Set-up floor mats, trash cans, turn on grill, fryers, grill exhaust, check grease drawer, fryer plug, fill and set sanitizer buckets in place.
  • Set-up appropriate utensils (portion ladles, knives, spatula, scraper, scoops, etc.) turn on steam table, stock refrigerator and salad unit.
  • Prep food items (bacon, eggs, batters, sauces, cheese, vegetables, salads) fill squeeze bottles and storage containers.
  • Receive orders from kitchen printer or guest checks from Servers for in-house guests and carry-out customers and prepare meals to order according to accepted methods, recipes and are properly presented in a timely and organized manner.
  • Perform quality checks on food items, rotate dated sensitive items, check fryer oil levels, fryer-grill temperatures and refrigeration-freezer temperatures.
  • Clean / sanitize work area and equipment, re-stock kitchen supplies, empty bus pans, grease drawer, trashcans and replace sanitizer.
  • Assist Servers, Fountain and Utility personnel load and empty dishwasher as needed.
  • Assist customers, address issues and concerns whenever needed and according to company policy.
  • At the end of the shift, wrap breads, mark / apply day dots and return food items in proper storage, throw out unusable, expired and out-dated  products, empty trash and replace liners, clean walls, floors, floor mats and exhaust hoods screens.
  • Breakdown, clean and secure kitchen equipment, freezer, refrigerator, grill, fryer, microwave, heat lamps, toaster, steam table and validate with manager on duty (MOD) and complete all necessary paperwork.

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma / GED preferred.
  • Commercial Food preparation background / experience preferred.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended period of time.
  • Must know safety information regarding all materials used within the scope of the work.
