Culinary Program

The Culinary Arts program is a comprehensive program offering students a broad-based culinary education including theory and practical instruction.

With our students being the most important people on campus, the Platt College Culinary Arts program is to provide the student with a thorough understanding of the the culinary arts. Some of the areas of study include competencies in safety and sanitation, the hot kitchen, Garde Manger, baking and pastries and food management. The curriculum is driven by the needs of the food service industry and meets current accepted standards.

The career objective is to provide the student with the skills and knowledge to succeed as a professional in the food service industry including hotel, resorts, restaurants,caterers, hospitals and other commercial food service establishments.

Nursing Program

The mission of the Platt College Nursing programs is to create a center of excellence for the advancement of nursing science. Our programs are student focused with exceptional faculty that care and are dedicated to student learning. We know our students, provide one-on-one instruction and ensure our students have every opportunity to be successful. As a result of our commitment, Platt College Nursing programs have very successful graduates representing the nursing profession.



Enrollment is open to men and women past the age of compulsory education. The school considers the following in evaluating applications:

  • Graduation from an approved high school program
  • Successful completion of GED (Certificate of Equivalency)
  • Determination of purpose and attitude conducive to success
  • Some programs require a passing score on an entrance exam before application can be completed. See admissions representative for specific details.
