The UnitedHealth Group family of companies strives to help people achieve better health based on four fundamental principles:
We believe in helping people by facilitating access to fragmented services. We have directed our resources into improved decision-making, facilitating care delivery and advancing health outcomes.
We believe in choice and in access to broad, diverse and fully qualified care providers and resources. We offer a full range of option-rich services that enable customers to make choices based on their unique needs.
We believe in simplifying the health care experience. We have designed simpler, more understandable products and services and have used advanced technology to speed health care interactions, simplify administration, advance information and lower costs.
We believe in safe and fact-based medicine. Our Ingenix business is fully devoted to gathering and sharing knowledge and information about health care quality and delivery. Across all of our businesses, we strive to advance appropriate care, best practices and patient safety based on fact and scientific evidence.
At UnitedHealth Group, we can't change the world fast enough. Entrepreneurial in spirit, principled in thinking and innovative in action; our employees are dedicated to performance excellence.
UnitedHealth Group's environment is demanding, challenging and fast-paced. Additionally, due to the dynamic environment in which we operate, employees' jobs are constantly changing. No one said changing the world was easy.
So, why do people stay here?
Everyone has his or her own reasons. Some people like the idea of working for a winning team. Others like the opportunities for career mobility. Still others just like helping to make the world a healthier place.
Whatever their reasons, people do stay at UnitedHealth Group — for 10 years, 15 years — even longer. That, more than anything else we can say, is a testament to the strength of our culture.
Although our employees have diverse cultural backgrounds, beliefs and lifestyles, they have one thing in common — their ability to excel.
UnitedHealth Group's employees are assigned and promoted based on their skills, talent and performance. Through training, mentoring programs and our emphasis on a team environment, we strive to give every employee the opportunity to realize his or her full potential.
We not only respect diversity; we believe diverse viewpoints are assets. UnitedHealth Group depends on our employees' broad range of talent, personalities and ideas to help us generate the innovations of tomorrow.
"We have people of all cultures working here, but with the constant promotion of the team environment, everyone gets along and has the opportunity to work to the best of their ability."
