Among some of the honors Kroger has received are:

• Kroger was named to Fortune’s List of Most Admired Companies in 2008. To make the list, a company must have scored in the top half of its industry survey. Kroger ranked first in our industry in long-term investment, quality management and use of corporate assets.
• In 2007, Kroger was elected "Retailer of the Year" by America’s Second Harvest, the fifth time in seven years the Company has received the award.
• 2007 Inductee into The Billion Dollar Roundtable, a premier forum for corporations that have achieved $1 Billion in spending with minority and women-owned businesses.
• Kroger Manufacturing named one of the safest companies in America by Occupational Hazards, a leading safety, health and loss prevention magazine in 2007.
• Named one of America’s “100 Best Corporate Citizens” by Business Ethics, a national publication that highlights corporate social responsibility.
• Ranked among the most generous companies by Business Week.

Here’s what else we are doing:
• Annual “Giving Hope a Hand” campaign raises millions of dollars for breast cancer education, screening and treatment in Kroger communities across the country. Kroger operating Divisions sponsor Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Race for the Cure events and American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events in most markets. Thousands of dedicated associates participate in these efforts as runners, walkers and volunteers.
• Kroger was one of the first major supermarket companies to adopt meaningful animal welfare guidelines.
• We uphold high standards of corporate governance as best practices continue to evolve.
• We value diversity and have programs and training in place to ensure fairness and equal opportunity for all associates.
• We are doing our part to be responsible stewards of the environment with programs, products and purchasing initiatives that promote green efforts in our communities.
