Our practice began as a collaboration between Southwest Cancer Clinic and Nevada Radiation Oncology Centers, who for over 30 years have provided Southern Nevada with the highest level of cancer treatment services available. Driven by the desire to better meet patient needs as a united group, the two practices came together in May 2000. The name Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada (CCCN) was adopted in September 2002.
Each year, CCCN treats about 4,000 medical oncology patients and 1,150 radiation oncology patients, which comprises nearly 50% of all new cancer cases from within the State of Nevada. The American Cancer Society estimates 10,000 new cancer cases per year in the state of Nevada and The Nevada State Cancer Registry estimates approximately 7,000 new cancer cases per year, as reported by hospitals throughout the state. We believe this number is understated due to prostate and skin cancer cases that are routinely treated in physicians’ offices and may not require hospitalization.
At CCCN, our physicians are specially trained and board certified in the fields of medical oncology, hematology, pediatric oncology and radiation oncology. We are the only oncology practice in the state accredited by the American College of Radiology. CCCN offers state-of-the-art facilities and employs innovative techniques and diagnostic therapies for the treatment of cancer.
Our comprehensive array of services include chemotherapy, pediatric oncology, radiation oncology, hematology, diagnostic imaging, nuclear medicine, clinical trials, therapeutic phlebotomy and nursing services by oncology certified nurses. CCCN is also the only practice in Nevada who offers stem cell transplantation for adults and children.
