Sterling At National City Names David C. Fulton Chief Executive Officer

Sterling, a division of National City Bank, today announced the appointment of David C. Fulton, Jr., as chief executive officer of Sterling. Sterling provides family office services to ultra high net worth individuals and families. Its unique capabilities are a distinct part of National City's extensive wealth management services, offered through the Private Client Group division.
"David's extensive expertise will be critical to our ongoing efforts to grow the family office business," said Timothy J. Lathe, executive vice president of National City Corporation and head of the Private Client Group. "His more than 20 years of financial services experience will be an important factor in further developing and expanding our specialized services for Sterling clients."
Sterling, one of the oldest multi-generational family offices in Ohio, serves wealthy individuals and families with $10 million or greater of investable assets, and was named to Bloomberg Wealth Manager's 2005 survey of leading multi-family wealth management offices. Sterling combines the best of boutique-style management and operation with the stability and capital support of one of the nation's largest financial holding companies.
Fulton succeeds Jeffrey M. Biggar. Biggar recently retired after 33 years with National City, most recently as senior managing director and chief executive officer of Sterling. Fulton also will serve as a member of the Private Client Group Executive Management and Planning Team.
Prior to joining National City, Fulton was managing director for Mellon Private Wealth Management and vice chairman for Mellon Private Trust Company. He also founded Davidson Partners, predecessor to Weber Fulton & Felman Investment Counsel, which he later sold to Mellon. Fulton also worked as a principal and vice president at Stein Roe & Farnham, an investment counsel firm, and as a banking officer for Society National Bank.
Fulton holds the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation and is a chartered investment counselor. He earned a bachelor's degree from Amherst College and a master of business administration from Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. Fulton is trustee and officer at University School, Lake View Cemetery Association, Shaker Lakes Endowment Foundation and Suicide Prevention Education Alliance. He also is an investment committee team member for the Bluecoats, Cleveland Council on World Affairs and St. Paul's Church.
