Our namesake
Michael R. Bloomberg founded his eponymous online network in 1981. Prior to founding the company, he was general partner at Salomon Brothers, where he headed equity trading, sales and, later, systems development. Michael Bloomberg was elected mayor of New York City on November 6, 2001.
