You may think of us as a cable company and that’s certainly where our roots are, as we were founded in 1985 by a couple of entrepreneurial guys who went on to spend over 30 years in the cable business. But in the last decade we have become much more than a cable company. We’re now a full service telecommunications company providing phone, high-speed Internet and video services to more than 700,000 customers in the Midwest.
The majority of our customers are in Kentucky. Louisville and its environs is our single largest service area. But we also serve areas in and around Lexington, Florence and Bowling Green. In addition, we reach communities in southern Indiana and neighborhoods in Columbus, Ohio.
We may be small compared to the “giants” in the cable industry like Time Warner and Comcast but we are mighty in our passion for serving our customers and providing Best in Class products. Our high-capacity broadband network supports numerous advanced services including high-definition television (HDTV), digital video recorders (DVR), video on demand (VOD), subscription on demand (SVOD), two tiers of high-speed Internet access service, voice telephony and digital cable, in addition to traditional video. The ability to bundle these services enables us to provide consumers with more choice and convenience. Perfect, we are not, but we will go further than most to deliver a great customer experience.
And, that’s because we really are just like our customers – we live in the same communities, we shop at the same stores and our kids go to the same schools. We have the same high expectations for what it means to get good service and good value for our money. We’re proud to be part of our communities and our commitment to serve them and believe that we have an innovative approach to providing the best possible service and products for homes and businesses.

The pioneering and interactive Insight Digital service offers customers enhanced video and audio, interactive program guides and expanded premium and pay-per view services. Insight Digital also features the innovations of LocalSource, delivering customized local information, as well as On Demand TV. Insight Digital is leading the industry in bringing the future of television into customers' living rooms through its interactive applications.

The newest addition to Insight’s digital cable product offering, DVR (digital video recorder) gives
customers the freedom to pause and rewind live TV, as well as record and store up to 40 hours of
television, with no additional, expensive equipment.
HDTV
With images up to six times sharper and twice the color resolution of analog signals, high definition
television (HDTV) dramatically changes the delivery of programming. As the cable industry works with broadcasters and the consumer electronics industry to facilitate the transition to the digital spectrum, Insight has begun its initial HDTV deployments in a number of service areas. Programming options continue to expand and currently include high definition channels of local
broadcasters, premium cable networks, and other specialized content.
Telephony
Representing the very latest in integrated technologies, Insight has deployed local telephone service in four of its markets through a joint venture with Comcast (formerly AT&T Broadband). For Insight, telephony represents the final component in becoming a full-service communications provider, with a value-added bundled suite of video, data, and voice options available to its customers.
