Who We Are

Hope, Trust, Security, Happiness, Stability, Opportunity

Children's Home Society of Florida (CHS) gives these life-changing gifts to children and families. Dedicated to our mission of "Embracing Children. Inspiring Lives.", CHS makes a difference one life at a time: Redirecting a troubled teen toward a future with real possibilities; Transforming an addicted mother into a productive parent; Providing safe harbor for an abused toddler; Finding parents for an abandoned child; Helping a family learn to nurture one another.

Founded in 1902 to care for orphans, CHS is now among the oldest, largest and most respected private not-for-profits serving children and families. Expanding from early roots in adoption and foster care, CHS offers an array of specialized services designed to nurture children and grow families. Last year, CHS delivered hope to nearly 87,000 children and adults.

CHS' rich legacy of changing lives for the better has earned 27 years of uninterrupted national accreditation by the Council on Accreditation. With more than 1,800 professionals, CHS provides a core of child- and family-caring services through 14 divisions that also provide additional programs and services tailored to the needs of local clients.

This is an exciting time to begin a career with CHS. Under the direction of our strategic plan, CHS is challenged to develop and implement innovative programs and enhancements that will, over time, break the generational cycle of abuse and neglect for increasing numbers of children. Though the goal is ambitious, CHS is determined to commit energy and resources to pursue prevention efforts in addition to providing the quality programs for children and families for which CHS is known.
