Founded in 1973, North County Health Services (NCHS), a non-profit healthcare corporation was organized by a team of nurses to provide care to residents of north San Diego County using a mobile clinic. This was a time when north San Diego County was rural. There were few health care providers caring for those without insurance, and few individuals had transportation to reach other physicians willing to care for them. Our nurses were committed to bringing healthcare into these underserved areas.
Today, the profile of north San Diego County has changed. It is urban, yet access to healthcare remains problematic. Consequently, NCHS continues its mission to "improve the health status of our diverse communities by providing quality healthcare that is comprehensive, affordable, and culturally sensitive." It prides itself in its effective corporate management, solid base of financial operations, comprehensive scope of services, and in the diversity and quality of its staff.
North County Health Services strives to provide an environment that employees enjoy and can demonstrate their knowledge and commitment to patient – customer service. This is evidences by the recognition and awards that North County Health Services has received.
