While full-time employees are eligible for all of these benefits, we also have options available for part-time workers. A few of the many benefits of employment at UTC are noted below: Health Care: Employing 152,000 employees in over 72 countries around the world, UTC places great emphasis on being aware of its employees' needs. It's our goal to provide you with flexible, comprehensive coverage that works for you. Under a cafeteria plan known as UTC Choice, we offer medical and dental plans that offer both routine and necessary health care coverage. We also provide Health Care and Dependent Care Reimbursement Accounts that allow you to pay eligible expenses with pre-tax dollars, as well as life insurance for you and your family, plus long term disability coverage. In addition to our health insurance policies, we try and promote wellness on every level by offering employee fitness centers at certain locations, plus vision care discounts. Purchased Vacation: In addition to your paid vacation days, we offer you the opportunity to purchase an additional 1 to 5 days of vacation through our UTC Choice program. And we'll help ease the financial burden by spreading out the costs over the course of the year. Part Time Benefits: If you're not a full-time employee of UTC, but are working 20 to 35 hours per week, then you're eligible to enroll in the Part Time UTC Choice program. Essentially, this program gives you the benefits of the standard UTC Choice program available to full-time employees, with the exception of the Purchased Vacation option. If you're eligible for part time benefits, then you'll also be eligible for the Employee Scholar Program, Met Pay Personal Lines of Insurance, Business Travel Accident Insurance and Adoption Assistance. Flexible Work Arrangements: With the competing demands of work and family, keeping the old standard work hours of 9 AM to 5 PM has become increasingly difficult to manage for some. Personal matters sometimes require you to alter your schedule - UTC understands this. That's why we offer flexible work hours to eligible employees, at the discretion of their supervisor. You might work from 6 am until 3 pm, or you might start the day at 10 am and work until 6 pm. With our Flexible Work Arrangements, you can talk to your supervisor and find out whether a different work schedule might be good for you. Savings Plan and Financial Advice: At UTC, we think it's important to try and help you plan for your future-in the long term. In many locations, employees have the opportunity to save additional amounts for retirement through participation in the UTC Savings Plan. And to help you manage your fund more wisely, we provide free on-line financial advice. Lifechoices Program: The Lifechoices Program is designed to help UTC employees and their dependents in times of need. A 24-hour hotline available seven days a week, this service provides immediate confidential information and referrals - whether it's a psychological concern or information on child care. You'll talk with counselors who have been trained to assist you with whatever problems you might be having, free of charge.
