Quality Insights of Delaware (QID), an affiliate of the West Virginia Medical Institute (WVMI) since 1986, is the First State’s federally designated Medicare Quality Improvement Organization (QIO) and the Health Information Technology Regional Extension Center (HITREC) for Delaware. Based in Wilmington, Delaware, QID is also a key partner to the state’s health care community. Its team members are professional quality experts and trusted collaborators.
As a Medicare QIO, Quality Insights of Delaware helps health care providers work toward the goal of the right care for every patient every time. Quality Insights is focused on improving patient safety in hospitals and nursing homes and reviews complaints from Medicare beneficiaries who believe they have received poor care. The organization also evaluates the appeals of those who were denied services or believe they were discharged from the hospital too soon.
Under its HITREC grant with the federal Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology, QID provides education, outreach and technical support to hundreds of providers seeking to adopt and attain meaningful use of electronic health record (EHR) technology.
