We listen. We engage life with pride, professionalism, creativity and fun.
We strive to enhance lives and exceed expectations every day.
We know that our company's success is directly tied to resident satisfaction.
So to ensure that each Atria community receives appropriate expertise and resources, we've created a support network consisting of senior leaders across all functional areas.
The network includes:
Food services
Care
Building maintenance and
Resident activities
Each local Atria community, which is supported by senior-care experts, employs caring staff members whose primary focus is resident needs and abilities.
The management team at each community provides residents with a well-rounded, supportive and fun senior lifestyle. Each community is unique because it's a reflection of its residents and the area in which they live.
We work each day to enhance and - ultimately - exceed our residents' lifestyle and to gain the respect of their loved ones.
It's because of our supportive network that allows us to attend to who matters most - each Atria resident.
Services
Independent Living is a retirement lifestyle suitable for the active and independent senior. It frees them from worries concerning home maintenance and gives them time to take part in the activities they most enjoy.
Assisted Living is ideal for seniors who need assistance with certain activities of daily living - including bathing, eating, dressing and medication management - but are not in need of skilled nursing care.
Alzheimer’s Care is offered at some Atria communities through the Life Guidance® program, which provides a separate and secure environment for seniors with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of memory impairment.
Respite stays are available for seniors on a temporary or short-term basis. Respite stays fill a variety of needs, including hospital recovery, vacation and seasonal stays, or trial-periods for seniors considering a permanent move to senior living.

Atria Senior Living Group to manage Sterling Glen portfolio of senior living communities
Louisville, Ky. (Aug. 1, 2007) – Atria Senior Living Group (Atria) today announced that it has taken over management of 11 senior living communities recently acquired or leased by an affiliate of Lazard Senior Housing Partners, including the Sterling Glen portfolio. This transaction advances Atria’s commitment to focus its operations in prime markets that are close in proximity, enabling the company to ensure superior resident service and quality through diligent local management oversight and significant economies of scale.
The addition of this portfolio expands Atria’s presence in key markets across the eastern United States, including metro New York, Philadelphia, and Broward County, Florida. On Long Island, the acquisition solidly positions Atria as the market leader, with the company’s combined portfolio in Nassau and Suffolk counties reaching 11 communities.
Atria will employ Sterling Glen’s management team and will continue to operate the acquired communities under existing Sterling Glen policies. Atria and the Sterling Glen team are exploring opportunities to share best practices in resident service, quality assurance and employee satisfaction according to the companies’ shared high standards for excellence.
“We’re very excited to welcome Sterling Glen residents and staff to the Atria family,” said John Moore, CEO of Atria Senior Living Group. “Sterling Glen is an outstanding enterprise, and we are looking forward to working with the current management team to assure the continued, seamless delivery of quality service and care to Sterling Glen residents at each community.”
“Delivering a superior resident experience through painstaking attention to quality is the Atria hallmark,” Moore added. “Atria Senior Living Group is focused on continual evaluation of and improvement in all areas of resident services, from care to our unique Engage LifeSM programming, as well as building improvement and redevelopment. Sterling Glen shares our commitment to quality, and we’re looking forward to learning from their team and providing the best living experience for all of our residents.”
"We're happy to become a part of the Atria family, which has distinguished itself as a national industry leader," said Kevin Hunter, Sterling Glen's Chief Operating Officer. "Our employees will benefit from Atria Senior Living Group's extensive training programs, quality assurance and support services. We will continue to maintain the high level of service and our residents-first philosophy while we take full advantage of the expanded resources as part of the Atria organization."
Sterling Glen communities are located in prime neighborhoods throughout the New York metropolitan area, Philadelphia and Connecticut. They offer a continuum of care including independent, assisted and supportive senior living and memory care lifestyle options which provide seniors the opportunity to live with worry-free independence in a supportive and accommodating atmosphere.
