Kroger is one of the nation's largest retail grocery chains with revenue of $82.2 billion. The Company's more than 328,000 associates serve customers in 2,460 supermarkets, 1,104 of which have fuel centers, and multi-department stores in 31 states under two dozen local banners including Kroger, Ralphs, Fred Meyer, Food 4 Less, Fry's, King Soopers, Smith's, Dillons, QFC and City Market. Kroger associates also serve customers in 784 convenience stores and in 361 fine jewelry stores. The Company also operates 41 food processing plants in the U.S.

Headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kroger focuses its charitable efforts on supporting hunger relief, health and wellness initiatives, and local schools and grassroots organizations in the communities it serves.

Giving back to the Community
In 2007, the Company donated $150 million to help hunger relief efforts across the country, raise awareness of breast cancer, and support local schools and organizations in the communities it serves. • In 2007, Kroger was elected "Retailer of the Year" by America’s Second Harvest, the fifth time in seven years the Company has received the award.
• 2007 Inductee into The Billion Dollar Roundtable, a premier forum for corporations that have achieved $1 Billion in spending with minority and women-owned businesses.
• Kroger Manufacturing named one of the safest companies in America by Occupational Hazards, a leading safety, health and loss prevention magazine in 2007.
• Named one of America’s “100 Best Corporate Citizens” by Business Ethics, a national publication that highlights corporate social responsibility.

Here’s just a few other things we are doing:
• Annual “Giving Hope a Hand” campaign raises millions of dollars for breast cancer education, screening and treatment in Kroger communities across the country. Kroger operating Divisions sponsor Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s Race for the Cure events and American Cancer Society’s Making Strides Against Breast Cancer events in most markets. Thousands of dedicated associates participate in these efforts as runners, walkers and volunteers.
• Kroger was one of the first major supermarket companies to adopt meaningful animal welfare guidelines.
