Overview

Centra Credit Union is a not-for-profit, member owned, cooperative that was established in 1940. For more than 70 years, Centra Credit Union has been committed to developing life-long relationships with the members we serve. Our roots lie in Columbus, Indiana where eight employees of the Cummins Engine Company pooled their funds together in a cigar box to offer each other low interest loans. The credit union later became state-chartered and is known today as Centra Credit Union.



Today Centra Credit Union is one of the largest credit unions in the nation with over $1 billion in assets. Centra has a network of 22 branches throughout Indiana as well as in Jamestown, NY and Whitakers NC. Centra’s family of over 275 employees provides World Class Service to more than 124,000 members.
