Our independent, not-for-profit system also includes four Urgent Care Centers in Brentwood, Concord, San Ramon and Walnut Creek, outpatient facilities in Brentwood and Rossmoor, a Behavioral Health Center in Concord and 27 Muir Lab locations. In addition, our patients benefit from the expertise of more than 950 affiliated primary and specialty physicians in the John Muir Physician Network. John Muir Medical Center, Concord
Our 259-bed medical center in Concord, California has long been recognized as a leading center for cancer and cardiac care, including open-heart surgery and interventional cardiology. Other specialty areas include general surgery, advanced endoscopic and robotic surgery, bariatric surgery, orthopedic and neurology programs. The recent opening of our five-story, 172,000 square foot patient tower has further enhanced our patient care capabilities.
John Muir Medical Center, Concord recently joined John Muir Medical Center, Walnut Creek in achieving the prestigious Magnet designation from the American Nurse Credentialing Center. Ours are the only hospitals in the East Bay area and two of just 21 in the entire state to receive this recognition. This also places our hospitals in the top seven percent of all hospitals in the country.

Our 572 licensed bed acute care facility in Walnut Creek is the only designated trauma center for Contra Costa County and portions of Solano County. We are recognized as one of the region’s premier health care providers with areas of specialty that include high- and low-risk obstetrics, orthopedics, neurosciences, cardiac care, and cancer care. In fact, we were the first hospital in the area to achieve the prestigious Magnet designation for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. This award places us among the top seven percent of hospitals in the country and demonstrates the high caliber of professional we attract. With the opening of our new five-story, 380,000 square foot patient care tower, we are prepared to continue to provide the exceptional caring our dynamic communities need.
John Muir Health Outpatient Center, Brentwood
Our Brentwood facility offers a wide array of high-quality outpatient health care services, including family practice, pediatrics, urgent care and diagnostic imaging, such as routine x-ray, digital mammography, CT, MRI, EKG, ultrasound and nuclear medicine. The Center also includes MuirLab Laboratory Services, cardiac conditioning, diabetes exercise program, pulmonary rehab, independent, multi-specialty physician offices and a surgery center.
John Muir Health Behavioral Health Center
We offer complete inpatient and outpatient behavioral health programs and services through our fully accredited, 73-bed psychiatric hospital in Concord. The John Muir Health Behavioral Health Center offers psychiatric treatment for adults, children and adolescents who are experiencing emotional or behavioral problems. For those who are dependent on alcohol or drugs, we also offer a full array of chemical dependency treatment programs.
John Muir Physician Network
We are proud to partner with the finest physicians in the Bay Area through the John Muir Physician Network. Our Physician Network is active in community service, health education and wellness programs, and clinical research. It is also one of the fastest growing physician groups in the Bay Area, with more than 950 primary care and specialty physicians. Physicians associated with the John Muir Physician Network accept most HMO and PPO insurance, as well as Medicare. We deliver coordinated patient care from Brentwood to Orinda, and Martinez to San Ramon and Livermore.
