Accredo Health Group, Inc., provides specialized pharmacy and related services for patients with certain complex and chronic conditions.
We offer: - Specialty retail pharmacy services designed for timely delivery of specialty pharmaceuticals, shipped in temperature-controlled packaging, as appropriate
- Compliance programs to help ensure that patients benefit fully from their therapy
- Clinical services for the patient and his/her doctor to help implement the prescribed course of treatment
- Reimbursement services to help patients with insurance issues, based on our long track record in managing costs and health plan reimbursements
Headquartered in Memphis, Accredo provides overnight delivery of drugs to treat hemophilia, pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), multiple sclerosis, growth hormone deficiency, Gaucher disease, and other chronic and complex conditions.
The focus of our pharmacy is on injectable and oral drugs that: - Are used recurrently to treat chronic and life-threatening diseases
- Are expensive
- Are difficult to administer
- May cause adverse reactions
- Require temperature control or other specialized handling
- May have restrictions as determined by the FDA
We’re proud that our services cover the range of needs posed by specialized care. Our pharmacists and other healthcare professionals talk frequently with patients over the phone, helping them follow their treatment and educating them about their condition. And our reimbursement specialists help patients manage the paperwork that’s generated by dealing with insurance companies, managed care plans, and government payors.
We have agreements with various drug manufacturers to buy their products and to provide a level of specialty service at retail. We have access to many medications that have limited distribution, making us a recommended provider to patients, payors, and physicians.
Accredo has adopted the Code of Ethics for Pharmacists as forged in 1994 by the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and that specifies ethics for all employed pharmacists. Accredo has also accepted the Principles of Practice for Pharmaceutical Care as adopted by the APhA Board of Trustees in 1995. These ethics and principles act as a framework for the ongoing evolution of our pharmacy practice.
Accredo is one of the nation’s leading providers of specialty pharmaceuticals. Through the dedication of our employees, we maintain our focus on serving people who have serious chronic or complex illnesses. Careers are available for you nationwide through our many divisions—Accredo Nova Factor, Accredo Therapeutics, and Hemophilia Health Services, as well as our affiliate, Clinical Business Solutions.
