About 7-Eleven

The story of 7-Eleven has never been conventional, and in many respects it is an American Dream story. In a suburb of Dallas, Texas, in 1927, our founders pioneered the concept of convenience when an employee began selling groceries on Sunday because other neighborhood businesses were closed. As the idea of having products conveniently available took hold, the small business grew. The name 7-Eleven originated in 1946 when the stores were open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Today, in neighborhoods from Orlando to Osaka, from Singapore to Sweden, offering customers 24-hour convenience, seven days a week is the cornerstone of 7-Eleven’s business, and our stores are the destination for a wide variety of products and services. Whether it’s a cup of just brewed hot coffee, delicious fresh foods or basics such as milk and bread, 7-Eleven’s success continues to be in providing the products customer want, when and where they want them.
