The Tennessean traces its heritage back to 1812 when two brothers, Moses and Joseph Norvell, established The Nashville Whig. Since that humble beginning, The Nashville Whig has evolved through more than a dozen mergers and consolidations to become The Tennessean of today.

Employees are offered a choice of plans and options allowing them to choose a health package that best suits their needs.
401(K)
Our 401(k) plan allows employees to save for their future. The Company will match a dollar for dollar up to six percent of employees pay.
Eligible employees may contribute up to 20% of pay on a pre-tax basis through payroll deduction. There are a number of funds that may be chosen from to make investments. Employee contributions are immediately vested and company contributions are fully vested after three years.
On-site Fitness Center
Our on-site subsidized Fitness Center is available for employees to join at a moderate cost. Open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day the center offers a variety of work-out options. Lockers and shower facilities are also available.
On-site Cafeteria
For convenience and at a subsidized cost, we offer our employees a full-service on-site cafeteria. Services include a grill, salad bar, sandwich bar and hot line as well as a dessert bar and hot and cold beverages.
Tuition Assistance Program
The primary goal of this program is to encourage self-development through undergraduate or graduate courses, job related certification programs, or other educational opportunities. The Tennessean will share the cost of approved courses for regular full-time employees who have been employed for one year prior to making application for assistance.
