A Brief History of FPC
We are a leading national executive search firm comprised of over eighty independently owned and operated offices serving more than forty industries and forty disciplines. The firm has planned its growth to become large enough to provide nationwide impact yet remain small enough to be personal, flexible and responsive to all of its constituent groups.
The key to FPC's vitality has always been the personal relationships built by the individual owners of FPC offices and their vast network of recruiters, giving client companies access to top talent and offering candidates new career opportunities throughout the US.
FPC is an entrepreneurial, rather than highly corporate, enterprise. Each office has the flexibility to develop individual models for success within the network structure. FPC owners select the industries and disciplines in which they focus, and receive support in addressing business and operational issues. This level of professional support, combined with individual ownership, creates the best of both worlds for FPC clients and candidates. FPC offices are operated by industry specialists with their particular expertise and contacts, and backed by systems, infrastructure and training.
FPC Chief Executive Officer Rudy Schott founded the company in New York City in 1959. Mr. Schott is recognized as a pioneer in the executive recruiting industry and helped develop many innovations that have become industry standards -- including industry and discipline specialization. The high standards and code of ethics he established continue to guide the company’s commitment to integrity, trust and dependability.
In its first years of operation under Schott’s direction, the firm quickly grew to become one of the largest in the New York area. Schott built his business model for replication in order to meet a growing need for well-trained and customer-focused recruiters nationwide. In 1970, FPC began to franchise with a commitment to well-planned growth. Currently there are over eighty independently-owned operations.
Since joining FPC in January 1995, Ron Herzog, executive vice president, has served as manager of operations and training in 1997 and then director in 1999, before being promoted to his current position of executive vice president. Ron has developed an extensive knowledge of the recruitment industry as well as the intricacies of the FPC system. In addition to providing his vision for the company, he oversees the day-to-day operations for the FPC system nationwide and has developed a comprehensive training program that is a template for success. He works personally with each office, in collaboration with FPC's New York-based training team, to maximize system productivity.
