Overview

A Long Term Care LegacyGreat things often start from small beginnings and Prestige Care is no exception. Although founded in 1985, Prestige Care is actually the legacy of a pioneer in Oregon's long-term care industry, Sarah Delamarter. In 1946, she began using her nursing skills to care for seniors in her home as a means to support her family. Her reputation and demand for her service grew quickly and soon she purchased a large house in Wood Village, Oregon, turning it into her first nursing home. Here the second and third generations - including Harold Delamarter, the President of Prestige Care - were introduced to the family business. Two more purchases soon followed and it marked the beginning of what is now one of the largest Northwest based operators of long-term senior care facilities. The years following the creation of Prestige Care saw challenges, growth and stability, as well as major advances in the delivery of care and services. It was during this time that Prestige Care developed a reputation for innovative approaches to senior care. Today, Prestige Care is a complete senior service organization consisting of nursing facilities, dementia care facilities, assisted living communities and retirement communities. We're proud to say our reputation for innovation, quality, and value is just as strong now as it was when we started.

What is Assisted Living?

The Assisted Living Federation of America defines Assisted Living as "...a special combination of housing, supportive services, personalized assistance and healthcare designed to respond to the individual needs of those who need help with activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL). Supportive services are available, 24 hours a day, to meet scheduled and unscheduled needs, in a way that promotes maximum dignity and independence for each resident and involves the resident's family, neighbors and friends..."

Not long ago if a senior needed help with something as simple as dressing, bathing or taking medication, the only options were nursing homes or costly in-home nursing care. Prestige Assisted Living saw a need for something new, for a better way to care for people who need help but don't need the extensive care found at a nursing home...and for a fraction of the cost of a nursing home. We have created a comforting, home-like community where seniors live in private apartments with their own furnishings and treasures. Personal services, planned to meet each individual's unique needs, are provided in the privacy of the senior's apartment, in a manner that maintains dignity and honors individual choices.

Prestige Senior Living's Retirement Housing

Prestige Senior Living offers affordable housing for active seniors. A reservation deposit, which is later applied to your first month's rent, is all that stands between you and our comfortable community. Our month-to-month rental programs keep you in control of your finances and lifestyle. Spacious and well-appointed apartment homes are designed with your independence in mind.

Tired of cooking? You can design your own meal plan - select one, two, or three meals a day or prepare all your meals in your own fully equipped kitchen. Interested in throwing away your vacuum and dust cloths? If so, housekeeping can be arranged.

This is your home and we want you to feel comfortable and secure. Our base rental program includes basic utilities, property taxes, maintenance, and access to all amenities and recreation programs. For the safety of our residents, all apartments are equipped with in-suite emergency call systems.

What are Skilled Nursing Facilities?

Skilled nursing facilities are licensed by each state and may be certified to participate in federal Medicaid or Medicare programs. Twenty-four-hour care is prescribed by an attending physician and delivered by a team of licensed professional nurses and certified nursing assistants. It serves residents who need extensive assistance in activities of daily living and periodic skilled nursing intervention. Programs range from short-term, transitional care that bridges the gap between hospital and home to long-term placement for those unable to effectively mange in a lesser care environment. All programs utilize a comprehensive assessment process and interdisciplinary approach to help residents achieve the highest practicable level of independence and quality of life.

Several specialty care programs complement traditional skilled nursing services and are available at select Prestige Care Facilities.
Long Term Care
For residents who need assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, and periodic assessment and treatment by professional nursing staff.
Transitional Care (includes Medicare qualifying stays)
For patients who are stable and no longer require hospitalization by do need an intensive program of rehabilitation, recovery, or treatment.
Terminal Care
For terminally ill patients who need sensitivity, support, and 24 hour professional nursing services.
Expressions (Alzheimer's Disease & Dementia Care)
Secure units designed for victims of Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia.
Geriatric Psych
Secure units designed for geriatric patients suffering from mental illness. Care in this unit is provided in concert with a local mental health agency.
