Description

Provide casework and supportive services to children in Safe Transition and Reunification Services (post release services).

Essential Functions:


 
  1. Meet weekly with supervisor to consult on cases, to review case plan and direction and to evaluate client participation and progress.
  2. Keep abreast of community resources and services and refer families for support as needed.
  3. Maintain effective communication with community agencies or individuals involved in service provision.
  4. Attend training provided internally and in the community and apply newly gained knowledge in providing services.
  5. Be available as co-therapist as appropriate.
  6. Be available to translate both written and verbal communication (Spanish) for program clientele and staff.
  7. Prepare for and be in attendance at required court hearings.
  8. Provide transportation for clients as needed.
  9. Maintain accurate, up-to-date information on, and provide post release services and related  child welfare services to unaccompanied migrant minors released from custody of ORR while meeting ORR (Office of Refugee Resettlement), and Bethany's documentation and reporting requirements.
  10. Willingness to travel within the state of Virginia.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.    

   

 

Requirements
Essential Requirements:


 
  1. BSW or BA/BS in a human service field.
  2. Bilingual (Spanish/English)
  3. Demonstrate excellent clinical, therapeutic and crisis intervention skills.
  4. Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills.
  5. Eligible to obtain professional licensure or registration.
  6. Computer skills sufficient to perform essential functions.
  7. Maintain a reliable automobile with adequate insurance coverage.
  8. Ability to travel within the state of Virginia required.
  9. Knowledge of state, community and agency resources.
  10. Subscription to and integration of the agency Statement of Faith, Mission Statement, and Cultural Diversity Commitment.


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MSW or MA in a human service field.
  • Bilingual abilities in Spanish and English.
  • Prior work experience with refugee or minority families and demonstrates cross-cultural sensitivity.
