Job Description
Telecommuting role! The primary responsibility of Solutions Specialist is to provide technical expertise and support to the sales team throughout the sales process. The Solutions Specialist will provide this support across a variety of technologies and customer industries.
Requirements

Must have broad technical knowledge of IP networking and systems that connect to the IP network.

Must have strong Cisco skills, experienced in two or more of the following: routing/switching, 802.11 wireless, unified communications, network security, physical security, videoconferencing, virtualization, servers and storage.

Familiarity with manufacturer solutions from EMC, NetApp, and/or VMWare a strong plus.

Expected to stay abreast of new products and emerging technologies.

Oral and written communication with customers, partners, and internal personnel.

Prior experience in a presales role.

Responsibilities

Meeting with customers, both in person and virtually, to identify customer business and technical requirements, design solutions that address customer needs, and assist in selling the designed solution to the customer.

Solutions design will entail assessment of existing systems, high-level architecture, validation of technical feasibility, bill of material creation, and professional services proposals.

Accuracy and timeliness of design creation will be key metrics as the Solutions Specialists endeavors to satisfy customer needs and shorten the sales cycle.

The Solutions Specialist will be an integral part of customer-facing sales activities. As such, the candidate should be personable, polished, and well spoken.

Public speaking and presentation in informal groups of up to 10 people will also be required.

Establish trust and rapport.

Serve as an advocate for the customer, and will work to ensure the satisfaction and success of customer initiatives. Further, collaboration with partner account teams throughout the sales process is expected to ensure there is consensus on the validity of solutions presented, and to apply partner incentives or promotions as appropriate.
Required skills is order of importance are Cisco, virtualization and storage (EMC - backup and recovery). Must have prior experience designing solutions for enterprise environments in customer facing roles, with strong communication skills. While a telecommuting role, need to be close to Charlotte as focus will be on supporting operations in about a 150 mile radius of Charlotte. May also be asked to support business elsewhere throughout the organization as needed. Occasional overnight travel probable.
Salary range expected to be $100,000 - 140,000, depending upon years of experience and number of certifications. There is also a quarterly bonus equal to 3% of the gross profit of sales opportunities that you made a significant contribution. No sponsorship available.
