Job Description

Reliability Engineer

Hypertherm is the world leader in the design and manufacture of high temperature metal cutting tools (plasma & laser) and we distribute our products around the world. �We are looking for a talented Reliability Engineer to insure the reliability and maintainability of our products and influence our product development to enhance the performance of our systems.� In this key role you'll have technical challenge, work within a team of talented engineers, share in the profits of the company and work in a beautiful location in central New Hampshire.


  • Develop reliability test plans for complex, highly engineered electro-mechanical products and implement the tests.
  • Work with engineering to embed reliability requirements in their product specifications.
  • Design and build appropriate test fixtures, control systems and setups.
  • Work with design teams to analyze and resolve any issues arising from reliability testing.
  • Perform statistical analysis of product reliability from reliability test results.
  • Manage multiple reliability projects simultaneously.
  • Mentor engineering staff in Reliability concepts as needed.
  • Represent the Reliability Team in design reviews.
  • Create and assist the Engineering groups in the development of Reliability Engineering standard documentation.
  • Operate and maintain temperature / humidity, HALT and thermal stress chambers.
  • Provide direction to Reliability lab associates.


  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering , MS preferred and 5+ years Reliability Engineering experience with electromechanical products including experience in Reliability tools and analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in project leadership
  • Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills. Must be able to effectively communicate with co-workers, suppliers and management.
  • Demonstrated experience providing direction to lab associates
  • Experience with SolidWorks and knowledge of software reliability preferred
