Reports To: Production Manager
Salary Grade: 8
FLSA Status: Full-Time Exempt
Summary: Supervise and coordinate activities of direct reports and cell/department to ensure a quality product is produced safely, in time for delivery, and within budgeted costs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Counter or anticipate daily production challenges and find effective solutions to prevent reoccurrence and meet production schedules
• Act as the information link between associates and management and support associates through change initiatives
• Assist in developing and monitoring standardized work for direct reports and adhere to Leader Standard Work for your position
• Audit or assign audit duties for key result areas (e.g., quality, safety, scrap)
• Hold daily cell meeting and set expectations for the day
• Monitor production status hourly, remove bottlenecks, and take corrective measures to ensure daily goals are met
• Oversee continuous flow and materials delivery systems and work with associates to continuously improve the process
• Develop associates to improve and expand skill sets and create bench strength (e.g., new hire OJT, cross-training)
• Review production schedules and estimate associate hour requirements for completion of a job assignment
• Interpret specifications and job orders to associates and delegate duties
• Recommend measures to improve production, equipment, and product quality
• Suggest changes to working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency
• Analyze and resolve work problems and assist associates in solving problems
• Initiate and/or suggest plans to motivate and enforce safety rules and interpret company policies to associates
• Work with other supervisors to coordinate activities across departments
