OR RN (PT) - Palms West Surgery Center
 
BASIC JOB PURPOSE:
 
The Registered Professional Nurse assumes the responsibility of planning, executing, and evaluating the nursing care given to surgical patients and has patient contact during the immediate pre-, intra-, and immediate post-operative periods, monitors the activities of all nursing staff during the procedure to which she/he is assigned; demonstrates clinical skills, and serves as team leader during on-call emergency situations.
 
 

SUPERVISES:

Other staff personnel as assigned and appropriate.

 


PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITY:

May advance to Charge Nurse - Operating Room

 


AGE OF POPULATION SERVED:

The patient care requirements include those of pediatric, child and adolescent patients when these patient populations are served, as well as the adult and geriatric.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Ability to scrub and circulate desired.  Knowledge of pre-op assessment, care planning setting up and maintaining sterile field, and providing safe environment for the surgical patient
 
EDUCATION
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
 
EXPERIENCE
One-year operating room experience preferred.
 
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION
 
1.  Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Florida
2.  CPR certified in Basic Life Support; ACLS preferred.
3.  Certification (CNOR) is preferred.
 
WORK SCHEDULE
 
This is a part-time 20hrs per work week position
