Software Engineer- Salesforce

The Program Management Office drives the rollout of enterprise automation applications, enabling backend applications to drive internal operations, at Vista’s portfolio companies and the Software Engineer is a key member of our team. This employee needs to have a proven track record of being able to formulate solutions, work well independently as well as in a team, and have a strong work ethic.

The Software Engineer needs to have an understanding of how various issues affect can each other and the outcome of the project at hand. This position reports to the Project Manager and while having a home-base in either San Francisco, CA or Chicago, IL – will be expected to be on the road 75% of the time.

Duties

• Quickly analyze and gain an understanding of a company (client)’s structure and requirements and data.
• Document requirements, specifications, business processes and recommendations. Define test conditions; develop accurate and complete test plans and conducting testing according to plan.
• Developing internal and external meeting objectives and agendas facilitating team and client meetings effectively.
• Accurately prepare written business correspondence that is coherent, effective, professional and engaging. And, ensure project documents are complete, current, and delivered appropriately.
• Possesses working knowledge of HTML, SQL, and database design.
• Assists in enforcement of project deadlines, schedules and standards.
• Improving upon existing approaches by seeking opportunities to creatively transform current industry practices into fresh alternative solutions.
• Proactively broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies.

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or technical field.
• At least 1-2 years’ experience working as a business analyst.
• Familiarity with Sales, Order to Cash, Support and Professional Services business processes a definite plus.
• Very strong oral and written communication skills, with a focus on business reports.
• Ability to work at a very detailed level and handle large sets of data.
• Demonstrated understanding of technical design specifications.
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Proven track record showcasing an ability to work well individually as well as in a team.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
• Experience with ERP solutions, specifically cloud based solutions a definite plus.
• Experience in a consulting firm is desired, but not required.
• Willingness to work off hours (nights and weekends) as project dictates.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% (Domestic and International).
