 Description SMARTSOURCE is in need of a support engineer for a contract possible contract to hire in Schaumburg, IL

Job Type: contract / possible contract to hire
Location: Woodfield Rd, Schaumburg, IL 60173
Hours: 40 hours a week, M-F hours will be 8-5 or 9-6.

Position Overview:
This is an exciting and varied role based in the Schaumburg corporate office to work on a global infrastructure team. The role will cover all aspects of IT but will focus primarily on resolving day to day IT support issues experienced by employees based at the Schaumburg office as well as remote workers around North America.
Responsibilities:
The main areas that this role will encompass are as follows; however this is by no means an exhaustive list:
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot desktop systems, workstations, and network issues in a heterogeneous environment.
• Plan and provide initial support for new hires and manage the employee termination process.
• Build machines and update desktop images.
• Maintains passwords, data integrity, and file system security for the desktop environment.
• Create and maintain desktop IT processes.
• Provide first-level support, including taking calls and logging/answering tickets from our helpdesk tool.
• Primary point of contact for hardware inventory using FNMP.
• Purchasing contact for NAM region and backup for EMEA staff.
• Willingness and ability to, on occasion, work after hours or on weekends.
• Provide mobile phone support, configuration, and cost management.
