Requirements
As Nurse Manager you will ensure the effective delivery of nursing care by working with the Nursing Director and other personnel to assess unit performance and patient needs utilizing historical information, current census and anticipated patient volumes, staff expertise, and resource availability. Other duties include:
- - 24/7 responsibility for the daily functioning of the departments under your direction.
- - Assisting with direct patient care.
- - Make admission and continued assessments of patient's physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs. Written assessments are reflective of unit standards.
- - Formulate patient focus/outcome relevant to the actual and potential health problems of the patient.
- - Develop a realistic, individualized plan of care for non-case-managed patients. Use case managed plan of care as appropriate
- - Establish and meet performance expectations for each of the long term objectives.
- - Responsibility for training and orienting new staff members.
- - Provide ongoing feedback to staff regarding their performance and annually complete an employee performance assessment for all staff which includes development of goals for the upcoming year and/or education strategies to meet performance needs identified.
- - Establish and implement a departmental competency plan for staff and self.
- - Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide and support the provision of services as well as meets regulatory standards.
- - Responsible for timely and accurate timekeeping.
- - Develop the operational, capital and FTE budgets for areas of responsibility.
- - Administer and monitor budgets and make adjustments based on operational factors.
- - Monitor productivity on a daily basis and make staffing adjustments based on UOS fluctuation and/or quality and service indicators.
- - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- - BSN preferred
- - Minimum of four years clinical nursing experience
- - Management experience related to nursing
