Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Sr. Analyst - Cross Product Optimization (Electrical Components) opening to provide expertise in our Cost Estimating & Research function.

 

Day to Day (what a typical day or week look like in this role)

  

Reporting to the Sr. Manager for Cost Estimating & Research, the Sr. Analyst responsible for the development and ownership of accurate and consistent product cost models, engaging in various activities with cross functional teams that will utilize material cost/design knowledge to drive cost/quality improvement, and improve day to day procurement and engineering practices by infusing knowledge and processes into mainstream negotiation/product development activities.

 

Providing expertise on the electronics commodity groups, including the various processes for manufacturing parts, the Sr. Analyst will have a strong understanding of the cost structures of the specific component industries in the relevant producing regions, and a solid working knowledge of financial classification of costs/product accounting.

 

Driving a world-class product cost knowledge base that will enable the Global Sourcing Strategy, including optimizing supply base negotiations, the Sr. Analyst supports the target costing process / value engineering efforts, ensuring best cost at First Launch of new products, and ultimately resulting in cost leadership and sustained competitive advantage.

Requirements
What You Will Do


  • Own and maintain specific component cost models

  • Be the global DFM champion for the DFM/A competitive costing

  • Support Global Component Architecture activities

  • Support Ad Hoc projects as required


 

 What You Need to Succeed


  • BS in Engineering (ME, EE) Supply Chain or Finance. MBA level preferred                      

  • 5 years experience as an engineer working in a procurement, operations, manufacturing or supply chain role focusing on electrical components.

  • Familiarity with the manufacturing & assembly processes used to produce electronic components and assemblies

  • Financial analysis skills focusing on the financial impact of changes to design specification, manufacturing process, and supply chain costs.

  • Strong computer skills including: Excel, CAD, and product eval software (DFMA©, Cost Vision©, SEER©, etc)

  • Solid analytical skills and business vision including experience with lean mfg process (Toyota approach), DFM, DFA, and manufacturing cost structure analysis. 

  • Demonstrated effectiveness in managing cross functional projects and personnel management.

  • Demonstrated capabilities using statistical and problem solving tools is required.  

  • Ability to lead and train others in the target costing process.

  • Technical trouble shooting & problem solving, creative capabilities, applied engineering principles, manufacturing technologies, drawing comprehension, and technical writing ability.
