Primary Function:

 

Responsible for the operational and financial performance of the Automation Division by directing production, sourcing, distribution, pricing, sales, marketing, product development, engineering and field service functions.

 

Principle Activities:

 

  • Ensure that all aspects of the operation are conducted in accordance with policies, principles, and procedures.
  • Special focus on providing the resources, direction and leadership for the sales, pricing, marketing, and product development functions.
  • Meet or exceed the financial operating budgets/estimates set for Automation Division.
  • Develop the talent the Automation Division needs to expand and grow as a business.
  • Develop both single and multi-year strategic plans and insure successful completion of the targets and deliverables.
  • Ensure new Automation products and systems are being developed cost effectively for the future applications based on sound market analyses.
  • Insure the Automation Division strategies are communicated to and consistent with other operating units of the company.
  • Special projects as assigned.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation, or Automation Engineering
  • Prior General Management experience and P&L responsibility
  • Oil industry background; upstream E&P a plus
  • Ten to fifteen years of related experience and/or training is desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technology necessary to produce, implement, and maintain automation products utilized by the oil and gas industry
  • International business experience and knowledge of global markets and related requirements
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, financial statements, technical procedures, or governmental regulations to arrive at sound business decisions
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a broad range of personnel and to present information to  top management
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical information in mathematical or diagram form
  • Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables to reach sound business and operational decisions
