Information Security Professional-C&A Engineer-IT

The Ventura Group, a progressive IT & Telecommunications consulting firm, requires a full-time Certification and Accreditation Specialist that will oversee contracts with a large scale nationwide, federal client. 

The qualified candidate will be able to perform the following duties:

• Analyzing, defining, implementing, and documenting security controls for the Department of Interior’s Wide Area Network and Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure

• Provide continuous monitoring of the effectiveness of security controls throughout the systems’ development life cycle using an array of network and security monitoring and reporting tools.

• Identify the Management, Operational, and Technical security controls and have the ability to provide continuous monitoring of these controls in a Wide Area Network and a Microsoft Active Directory environment.

• Assess the implementation of security controls to determine if they were implemented correctly

• Perform technical testing of Active Directory servers’ configurations for Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance

• Analyze requested changes to the system to determine security impact. Identify corrective actions in addressing vulnerabilities and facilitate corrective actions with all parties to include contractors and Federal employees

•  

  • Bachelor Degree
  • 2 years relevant experience within a government contracting environment
  • 2 years exp in specialized analytical a/o technical work in performing information security network services with both of the following
    • A primary focus of work within a certification and accreditation (C&A) framework with emphasis on the Continuous Monitoring Phase / lifecycle
    • Technical assessment of Microsoft Active directory environments for STIG compliance
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in working with vendors, contractors, and government employees
• CISSP, CCNA, CAP, Network+, Security+, or MCSE certification a plus
