Description The Chief Operations Officer will be responsible for leading and managing an array of products and services which will include government contract bidding, procurement processes and procedures, reengineering, hiring staff and financial activities. Reporting to the CEO, the COO will lead a small staff initially for this start up company and be responsible for all activities pertaining to the Department of Defense contract bid award processes and procedures. This individual will provide written procedures and a best practices manual and will inform the CEO and the board of all operational, manufacturing and production issues.  Responsibilities include review and expanding the RFQ and RFP contract bid opportunities and awards at target margins. Other responsibilities will include managing bid cost estimation, qualification and award inspection requirements. You will be the primary relationship lead and conact for suppliers and other contractors.
Requirements Requirements for this position will be at least 10 years experience with a minimum of five years leadership experience withing the manufacturing industry.
Degree is much preferred and MBA desired. 
Strong relationship builder and communicator with experience leading diverse teams. Experience with all operational aspects of a company including P&L and budgeting.
Small to mid sized company experience
