We are currently seeking a Staff Physical Therapist to plan, implement and evaluate patient care programs designed to increase, maintain or restore function, minimize or prevent disability, and assist patients in reaching their maximum performance levels.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Reviewing and evaluating patients' conditions and medical records, performing tests or measurements, interpreting findings, and maintaining documentation.

  • Conducts discipline-specific patient evaluations, assessments, consultations, and treatment, as a member of an interdisciplinary team, in accordance with program protocol and federal and state regulations and guidelines

  • Helping patients attain maximum muscle strength and motor skills as well as accepting and adjusting to the limiting effects of their disabilities.

  • Carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain and prevent physical dysfunction in patients

  • Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.

  • Confer with the patient, medical practitioners and appropriate others to plan, implement and assess the intervention program.

  • Direct and supervise supportive personnel, assessing their competence, delegating specific tasks to them and establishing channels of communication.

  • Develop and update appropriate plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and related to the person's age and lifestyle with measurable long and short term goals.

  • Follow intervention protocols and alter plan of care appropriately

  • Work intimately with the director of Physical Therapy to improve function and flow of patient schedules for all therapy teams

  • Assist director of Physical Therapy as needed for clinical and supervisory tasks

  • Supervises and manages a clinical team of assistants and aides

  • Performs reviews and makes employment recommendations of clinical team to director of PT

Requirements

Education/Experience           

  • Bachelor's degree, Master's degree or Doctoral degree from a college or university OR
  • 4-10 years related experience and/or training OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience  
  • Must also possess California PT license and CPR Certification

 

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Superb analytical skills for interpreting data

  • Strong mathematical aptitude and good understanding of formulas and mathematical concepts

  • Ability to effectively communicate medical information, test results, diagnoses and/or proposed treatment in a manner easily understood by the client

  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and/or kinesiology

  • Understanding of the administration, indications and contra-indications of various physical agents and physical therapy techniques

  • Ability to plan, develop and implement physical therapy programs and perform diagnostic tests and evaluations for physical therapy patients
