L-3 is currently recruiting for a Sr Avionics Project Engineering Lead in Waco, TX.

L-3 Integrated Systems, a recognized leader in aircraft modification and special mission system integration, offers challenging and rewarding assignments across a broad spectrum of aircraft modification programs. The Platform Integration Division provides innovative solutions for major structural modifications and systems integration to military and commercial aircraft. The division has operations in Waco, Texas, Crestview, Florida, and Warner-Robins, Georgia.
Sr Avionics Project Engineering Lead:
The position will report to the Project Engineering organization as a member of a design/development team responsible for defining and integrating aircraft avionics systems on military and commercial aircraft. Tasking will include system definition, development, integration and test activities for the program(s).
Responsibilities will include:

Requirements definition and allocation

Specification and statement of work development

System interface definition and control

Support of hardware and software development

Management of subcontractor activities (from a technical perspective)

Customer interface

Design review preparation and presentation
Technical leadership skills are necessary to coordinate design, development, and integration and test activities across multiple engineering disciplines and support organizations. The candidate will be working with aircraft avionics systems including communications, navigation, and surveillance systems. Among other duties as assigned, the successful candidate will set the highest ethical standards for self and others.
Requirements
The candidate we’re looking for will have:

An Engineering Bachelor’s degree
-
A minimum of 10 years engineering experience with Airborne Systems in Communications, Navigation and Surveillance for Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM).

Demonstrated leadership experience

DoD security clearance at a Secret level
-
Willingness to travel and work overtime as required

Experience with Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
