Job Description

Provides care to assigned residents in a caring, safe and efficient manner; and is responsible to perform the following according to Good Samaritan mission, center/campus standards, procedures and individualized resident care plans:

 

Agency Administration:

Demonstrates/encourages opportunities for carrying out mission. Formulates and works within annual budget; recruits, hires, and staffs work area at appropriate levels. Acquire resources and means that promote a quality work environment; ensures quality performance and conformance with regulation and laws. Participates in the QA/CQI process. Keeps abreast of and implements new programs or practices. Accepts accountability for activities under direct control; plans and organizes work with and for department. Exercises sound judgment and decision-making. Promotes cooperative working relationships within and between agency and departments.

 

Client Care:

Assures clients are assessed and plans are made to address nursing care needs. Assures clients are provided care to meet their needs.

 

Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements

Following are the minimum requirements to be hired into this job:

 

Knowledge: basic ability to communicate and comprehend; ability to measure and comprehend certain quantities; demonstrated knowledge of supervisor skills; knowledge of basic Home Health nursing skills; knowledge and familiarity with the therapeutic effects and side effects of all medications administered; graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

 

Prior Experience: two years nursing experience in home health is preferred; ability to meet conditions of employment applicable to the agency; must be able to speak, read and write in English and be able to articulate clearly and audibly.

 

Specific Abilities/Training: licensure for state of practice is required. Baccalaureate degree in nursing or related field; prior supervisory management experience is preferred; current CPR certification or ability to become certified in CPR within 180 days of hire.
