Systems Analyst - Louisville

Medallion Staffing has an immediate need for a SYSTEMS ANALYST for our Louisville-area client in the Telecom industry.  This position is a 3-month temp-to-hire position.  Annual salary will be based on experience and qualifications.  This client offers also an excellent benefits package to their full-time employees.

JOB OVERVIEW:

Be responsible for the maintenance and administration of existing commercial and internally developed tools and reporting systems by insuring software version control, insuring hardware health, performing troubleshooting for existing tools, documentation of tool specifications and fulfillment of user-requested enhancements.

DUTIES:

·         Provide documentation of functionality and performance of existing tools and applications.

·         Assist in Requirements Development for development projects.

·         Provide design drawings and documentation, to include topology, bill of materials, ROI’s and presentations as required.

·         Provide backup for Monitoring Analyst in support of Element Management Tools and Network Management Tools such as Solar Winds and Netcool.

·         Assist in developing reporting options to improve utilization of tools by users and their managers.

·         Participate as an escalation resource for help desk support for user inquiries on tools and applications.

·         Work as a technical liaison among peers in other Insight organizations.

·         Develop scripts or programs to utilize full functionality of Enterprise Technologies and to drive automation.

·         Maintain and enhance Insight web applications, running in an open-source LAMP environment, for networking and cable modem troubleshooting/management.

·         Maintain technical business requirements related to supported technology to enhance services provided.

·         Lead or assist technical design, development, deployment and maintenance of one or more tools or applications.

REQUIREMENTS:

·         A 2-year degree is preferred

·         4+ years experience supporting telecommunications networks and/or systems and their management tools

·         2+ years experience software development exhibiting strength in SDLC best practices and Project Management.

·         Knowledge of technical writing concepts, basic mathematics and statistical techniques, web publishing (HTML, Front page),

and process management concepts

·         Work experience utilizing knowledge of Perl, HTML/CSS/CGI, JavaScript, MySQL, PERL, C/C++, Database, TCP/IP (HTTP/POP3/DNS/DHCP/etc.), and WAN networking, Windows, Linux, and Unix platforms a plus

·         Experience in support of Remedy, Solar Winds and Netcool

·         Knowledge of security procedures, and the ability to maintain confidentiality of information is required

·         Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear manner, as well as listen to and interpret the needs of the customer

·         Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects and tasks

·         Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure, prioritize and organize effectively, and demonstrate appropriate judgment and initiative to accomplish job duties
