RN/ LPN Charge Nurse 6p-6a

Responsible for all direct resident care on the assigned unit. Conducts resident rounds daily, reports problems to nursing, supervisor and initiates corrective action promptly. Identifies resident problems and emergency situations and initiates immediate lifesaving measures in the absence of a physician. Participates in facility education programs and coordinates student activities with the Director of Nursing Education.

Provides clinical supervision of nursing assistants providing direct resident care.

Counsels nursing assistants. Prepares nursing assistants' assignments. Checks food trays to assure proper diet is served. Administers medications and treatments per the physician's order and accurately records all care provided.

Requirements Graduate of accredited school of nursing. Holds current state license registration in good standing.

Must be in good physical health. Must have good nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge and competence. Demonstrate consistent ability to work cooperatively with residents, nursing staff, physicians, families, consultant personnel, community agencies and ancillary service providers. Please have sensitivity to feelings of others by listening and taking follow-up action as necessary.  This position requires strong management skills and is responsible for supervising the direct care staff.

Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 lbs, or carry approximately 10 lbs short distances, such as moving supplies within the facility.
