Here is what we are looking for:

Mechanical Engineer (BS required, MS preferred)  experience in mechanical product design.  Previous experience in developing patented products a plus.  Background in product management from conception, prototype development, laboratory testing through to commercialization desired.  Strong CAD experience and a verifiable history of FEA capabilities a big plus.

Major responsibilities include:

Applies creativity, engineering principles and better design practices for the design and development of new products. Uses analytical tools to conduct detailed technical analysis of new product ideas.

Functions as a technical lead on design programs:  generates and monitors product development schedules, defines product specifications and design to cost goals, provides periodic program updates, coordinates review meetings, functions as customer POC. 
 

Generate and analyze data regarding the design, performance, fabrication and costing of the new products.  Such data may come from: laboratory experiments, mathematical analysis, physical testing, literature references, and modeling.

Conducts design verification testing of functional prototypes.  Verifies performance to specifications.

Writes technical reports and white paper proposals.

Assists a cross-functional team to transfer new products to Production.
