The Business Unit

Rexnord Aerospace supplies engineered high performance bearings and mechanical seals to the commercial air transport, regional aircraft, business aircraft, helicopter and military aircraft markets for use in engine systems, flight control systems, airframe structures and landing gear systems.  Our aerospace bearing and seal products consist of rolling element airframe bearings and bearing tooling sold under the Shafer® and Tri-Roller® brand names, Teflon lined polymeric bearings sold under the Tuflite® brand name, slotted entry, split ball and split race bearings sold under the PSI® brand name, self-lubricating machinable lined bearings and coatings sold under the Rexlon® brand name and mechanical seals sold under the Cartriseal® brand name.  Our global customer base includes all major engine and airframe OEM’s, as well as major Tier 1, 2 and 3 suppliers to the engine and airframe OEM’s and through our FAA approved repair station we support major MRO and aircraft operators with repair and overhaul capabilities.

Brief Description

The Lean Manufacturing Manager is responsible for driving performance improvements through the implementation of the Rexnord Business System (Lean Manufacturing), including establishing the plan that the business unit must follow to execute and generate performance improvements i.e. decreased lead time, inventory and cost. The Lean Manufacturing Manager coaches the Management team to drive the Lean culture through the use of Strategy Deployment in order to achieve breakthrough business objectives.

Key Accountabilities

-Set the vision to achieve a culture committed to lean

- Drive results and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

- Develop metrics, dashboards and faciitate visual management across the organization

- Organize and facilitate kaizen events to apply lean tools

- Assess key value streams to focus on limited objectives

-  Be the champion that drives training so multiple associates are trained to use lean tools 

Desirable Experience, Capabilities and Success Factors

- BS in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering is desired

- 7 + years experience in a fast paced manufacturing environment

- 2-5 years experience in implementing and applying lean tools in manufacturing environment

- Six Sigma Black Belt is desired

- Ability to accurately measure and report key business metrics

- Passionate leader that can communicate at all levels

- Being able to influence without authority is key

- Bias towards action
