Verso Paper, a leading producer of coated & super calendared papers for the publishing industry is seeking Maintenance Technicians and Operations Shift Managers at its Quinnesec Mill located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
Operations Shift Leader
Job Scope:
· Provide leadership in safety excellence
· Plan and organize production to meet quality and customer requirements
· Coach, motivate, train and manage hourly production employees
· Efficient in cost management and continuous process improvement
Requirements:
· 5+ years of manufacturing experience
· BS degree in paper or chemical engineering preferred
· Minimum of 3 years manufacturing management experience in the paper industry
· Documented success in leading safety, systems based-based management of people and workforce empowerment/engagement
· Must work a 12 hour shift schedule
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Leadership/coaching
· Communication, planning and organization skills
· Strong interpersonal and technical troubleshooting skills
· Strong understanding of paper mill systems
Maintenance Technicians
Maintenance Technician (Millwright)
· Requires journeyman level rating with at least 4 years of recent industrial experience (employed as a journeyman in the past 3 years)
· Responsibilities include the ability to troubleshoot equipment and rebuild to specifications
· In addition to the millwright skills, multi-craft knowledge and experience is desired
Maintenance Reliability Technician (Vibration Analyst)
· Requires journeyman level rating with at least 4 years of recent vibration analysis experience (employed as a vibration analyst in the past 3 years)
· Responsibilities include data collection and analysis of rotating equipment and timely reporting of potential reliability conditions
· In addition to the vibration analysis skills, experience with infrared, ultrasonic, lubrication and other reliability related technologies are desired
Preferences for both Maintenance positions:
· An Associates degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance
· Pulp and/or paper experience
· Leadership experience
All candidates must have a commitment to safe work practices, good communication skills, basic personal computer skills and the ability to work with others. These positions require working extended hours, shifts, weekends, holidays and respond to after hour calls.
