Responsibilities:
Develops web strategy by understanding key website/e-commerce objectives; diagnosing and mapping requirements; articulating solution risks and barriers; developing communications project approaches; preparing time and cost estimates; and planning full project life cycle .
Designs web architecture by translating website/e-commerce needs into technical solutions, including selection of technology, functionality, connectivity, scalability, usability and security; recommending best-fit and best-breed architectures.
Implements web electronic communications architecture by building custom designs; completing prototyping; resolving problems; and documenting development.
Updates job knowledge by tracking emerging web technologies, design and communication strategies; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations.
Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests and by exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Plans site design by clarifying goals; designing functionality.
Develops site navigation by categorizing content; funneling traffic through content.
Develops site content and graphics by coordinating with copywriters and graphic artists; designing images, icons, banners, audio enhancements, etc.
Upgrades site by updating content and graphics; monitoring performance and results; identifying and evaluating improvement options; introducing new technology; maintaining links.
Maintains site appearance by developing and enforcing content and display standards; editing submissions or recommending changes as appropriate to maintain site’s compatibility with corporate goals and image.
Provides information by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends.
Maintains high design/production quality by reviewing other designers’ work; ensuring that site content is consistent.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science preferred but not required.
1-2 years related work experience.
Understanding of Web Graphic Design; Web Planning; Web User Interface Design; teamwork; Illustration Tools; Multimedia Content Development; Browser Capabilities; Internet Presence.
HTML and CSS skills. Working knowledge of JavaScript and related libraries (jQuery, Mootools, etc.).
Project Management skills.
Ability to responsibly govern own tasks and demonstrate dependability.
Ability to work independently or as part of a cross-functional program team.
