Personal Lines Account Manager

Personal Lines Account Executive

GENERAL PURPOSE:

Partners with the Account Executive in servicing assigned accounts.

 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  •          Qualify new customer
  •          Input necessary information in rating system
  •          Provide Solutions/Best Options/Premium Estimate
  •          Set-up new business on computer system
  •          Complete application in full
  •          Have new application signed
  •          Collect premium payment (if agent bill, request invoice from accounting)
  •          Send application and necessary documents to insurer
  •          Obtain referrals
  •          Obtain testimonial, if applicable
  •          Introduce client to the call center, if applicable
  •          Review new policy upon receipt from insurer and request changes as appropriate 
  •          Send policy to customer
  •          60 days prior to renewal, send letter or call client to complete annual renewal review. 
  •          45 days prior, the renewal is checked against computer or renewal application (if agent bill, request invoice from accounting)
  •          Payment is collected by renewal date (if agent bill)
  •          Obtain testimonials and referrals at every opportunity
  •          Send policy to customer
  •          Update computer with changes
  •          Complete application in full
  •          Have application signed
  •          Collect premium payment (if agent bill, request invoice from accounting)
  •          Cancel the previous insurance policy flat
  •          Review new policy upon receipt from insurer, and request changes as appropriate
  •          Send policy to customer
  •          Invoice additional premium and collect (if agent bill)
  •          May receive inquiry calls
  •          Make service calls as needed
  •          Provide customers with benefits of having all insurance with one broker/company
  •          Roll-overs
  •          Service walk-in clients to discuss policy and changes
  •          Maintain good relationship with underwriter

 

 

OTHER DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Attends and participates in department meetings as well as other meetings as directed
  • Participates in training to enhance knowledge and skills and remains current with industry changes
  • Performs other duties as requested
  • May occasionally require overtime at the discretion of management

 

 

 

 

  

Requirements

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  •          In depth insurance knowledge, personal lines preferred.
  •          Ability to apply technical knowledge in insurance coverage, terminology and concepts
  •          General knowledge of rating and marketing techniques
  •          Ability to work independently and maintain attention to detail
  •          Good organizational skills
  •          Ability to satisfy the needs of the customer, both internal and external
  •          Good oral and written communication skills
  •          Excellent customer service and teamwork skills
  •          Ability to interact with employees at all levels of LUI and customer and vendor companies
  •          Ability to read, write, speak, hear and comprehend the English language
  •          Working knowledge of computer software packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook; Sagitta knowledge, a plus
  •          Ability to use general office equipment, including a computer, calculator, typewriter, fax machine, copier and telephone
  •          Ability to learn and perform new duties and responsibilities
  •          Ability to work overtime as requested by management

 

 

Education or Formal Training

  •          High School diploma or equivalent required
  •          Requires the possession and maintenance of the Florida 4-40, or Florida 2044 licenses. Florida 2-20 a plus.
  •          Requires current Florida drivers license with automobile insurance liability limits

Experience

  •          Requires three years progressively responsible experience in dealing directly with personal lines insurance coverage

Material and Equipment Directly Used

  •          Requires the daily use of various photocopiers, facsimile machines, computers, 10-key calculator, telephones, and other general office equipment

 

 

Working Environment/Physical Activities

  •          General office environment
  •          Requires the extensive use of arms, hands, and fingers
  •          Frequently required to sit for extended periods of time, reach with arms and hands, stand, walk, stoop, talk and hear
  •          May be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
