Resource Nurse – 24 Hrs per week (Part-Time Overnight)

Sunday, Monday and Friday 12:00 AM – 8 AM or 11:00 PM – 7: AM fixed schedule
Location:  Oklahoma City, OK

 

Job Summary

This part-time customer service nursing position will be responsible for taking in-coming calls for Nurse Advice Line (24 hour call center). The Resource Nurse will receive calls from affiliate hospital and members contracted with Healthlink.  The position will work 16 - 24 hrs per week, with various shifts available during the day, evening, nights and weekends as a telephone support nurse.

 

Position Responsibilities:

This position entails use of computerized protocols to perform triage on patients making inbound telephone calls. The nurse in this position will work under the direction of the manager of nursing operations. Duties include use of multi-line telephone system, data entry during triage calls, concise and accurate documentation, use of external support services, delegation of clerical duties to non-licensed staff and ability to perform several tasks (i.e., talk, type and use computer mouse) at once.

 


Job Requirements 

Position Requirements:

  •  Graduation from an accredited program of professional nursing is required

  • Nursing degree is required; Poses current license as registered Nurse in the state of Oklahoma

  • Candidate must have unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Oklahoma

  • At least 2-4 years current nursing / clinical experience 

  • Experienced "retired" nurses are ideal as well (Part-time role)

  • At least one year of direct patient care experience within the last three years.

  • Ability to accurately type 30+ words per minute.

  • Must have basic computer skills working in Microsoft Office, WORD, Excel, internet, outlook

  • Ability to multi-task and make prudent decisions about patients

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a professional phone presence. 

  • Must be customer-focused (both internal and external)

  • Ability to make accurate assessments from members calling for help

  • Ability to work independently. 

  • Willingness to learn new skills and grow in the profession.
