There is a current opening for a Program Specialist 2 within the Construction Review Services section within the Office of Health Professions and Facilities. Primary Duties
This position supports the mission of DOH by working together with stakeholders to educate all participants about how to be effective during the construction review permit process for boarding homes, nursing homes, hospitals, residential treatment facilities and other facilities licensed by the Office of Health Professions and Facilities. They are the first point of contact and perform a variety of advanced technical permit processing duties. This position provides technical assistance to customers, directs, the flow of the plan review cycle and performs other technical duties to ensure the timely and efficient processing of permit applications.
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or GED.
- Two (2) or more years (full-time equivalency) of experience distinguishing various types of construction documents such as blue prints or building plans; OR one (1) or more years (full-time equivalency) of technical support experience related to building permit processing.
- Two (2) or more years (full-time equivalency) of concurrent experience working in a construction permit office with duties related to issuing the permits and/or credentialing or licensing facilities.
Desired Qualifications
- One (1) or more years (full-time equivalency) of experience in applying rules and regulations such as WAC, RCW, or Building Codes.
- Two (2) or more years (full-time equivalency) of proficient experience in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and database programs; and
- Six (6) or more months (full-time equivalency) of experience providing customer service to internal or external customers.
- Working knowledge of medical, construction or architectural industry with the ability to converse with professional people in the medical or architectural fields.
Conditions of Employment
- Willing and able to move or transport boxes of files or supplies weighing up to 70 pounds, with or without accommodation.
- Willing and able to occasional travel statewide which may include overnight stays to attend meetings and trainings and to meet program needs.
- Willing and able to occasionally work in excess of 40 hours per work to meet critical deadlines and program needs.
