Mac Tools is a division of The Stanley Works. For more than 60 years, Mac Tools has been one of the world's most recognized and trusted brands in the professional automotive tool industry. Currently, we have an opening for a Government/National Sales Account Rep.
Position Summary:
The Mac Tools’ National Account/Government Sales Representative will optimize our public and private accounts by managing existing contracts and generating new business through long-term strategies. This position will also be responsible for energizing existing relationships as well as building new relationships.
Position Responsibilities:
• Research various on-line government bid boards for opportunities.
• Research various National companies for account opportunities.
• Review product and cross-national stock numbers and/or equal products.
• Review with the contract administrator the terms and conditions of RFP, RFQ, and Solicitation requirements.
• Manage and maintain record of opportunity post dates, required due dates, and contact information.
• Enter and process RFQ’s into order entry data base and forward to contract administrator.
• Probe to determine areas to expand sales, suggesting new product groups and value services not currently being supplied by Mac Tools and/or on a current government contract.
• Submit reports regarding activities and results on a weekly basis.
• Meet regularly with Sales Director/Contract Administrator to share information about opportunities and plan actions to effectively respond to and follow-up on leads.
• Work with Supply Chain to maintain vendor classification information.
• Create business development plan to identify new sales opportunities and drive incremental revenue through Government and private channels.
• Ensure compliance to federal/state Government laws and requirements.
• Interact and coordinate activities with other National Account/Govt. Sales personnel within Stanley.
Position Requirements:
• Minimum five years of specifically related experience with GSA Contracts and/or National Account Sales.
• Function as the primary point-of-contact with government contracting officers in the specified region of the United States.
• Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR purchasing rules.
• Understanding of negotiated proposals for new government contract and making changes to existing government contracts.
• Ability to review contractual documents to ensure adherence to company policy, government specifications, requirements and conformance to master agreement.
• Direct experience in creating and processing quotes for government agencies and private sector companies.
• Able to organize various documents according to government contract requirements and procedures.
• Understanding of specific aspects of Government audits.
• Experience with flow down contract compliance.
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills are a must.
• Highly motivated self-starter with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Able to travel at least 50% of the time, up to and including 75 - 100% of the time.
• Bachelor’s degree and/or advanced business degree.
• Computer skills (Internet, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Outlook)
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Direct Military experience preferred.
• Armed Services Maintenance Retirees preferred.
• Prior experience selling industrial and/or automotive tools preferred.
