Summary - Accounting Manager

Ensures the accuracy of data and adherence of the system to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Department: Accounting/Finance
Reports To: Controller..

Responsibilities - Accounting Manager

  • Uses accounting concepts and internal company policies to assure internal controls.
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate the process of documenting accounting policies and procedures
  • Participates and facilitates the implementation of monthly financial close.
  • Prepares monthly management financial reporting package.
  • Maintains monthly general ledger account reconciliations for all trial balance accounts, including balancing of intercompany transactions monthly.
  • Initiates weekly check runs and process manual checks as needed.
  • Verifies weekly expense reports and process for payment.
  • Balance and maintains adequate records for petty cash fund.
  • Supervising and training of the accounts receivable and accounts payable personnel.
  • Maintains, initiates, and supervises daily cash reporting requirements, including positive pay, wires, ach payments, lockbox postings, and etc.
  • Audits departmental accounting data, identifies and corrects errors, identifies and computes accruals, applies accounting principles to transactions and recommends revisions in departmental procedures to ensure conformance with policies and General Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Calculate and process royalty and commission payments.
  • Process manual deposits at local bank
  • Co-ordinates the preparation of annual audit including gathering financial information needed to be audited.
  • Prepare, examine, and submit Sales and Use Tax Returns.
  • Prepare, examine, and submit Property Tax information.
  • Process annual 1099 statements.
  • File necessary financial reports needed to comply with State Law and Federal regulations.
  • Maintains the fixed asset inventory system by supervising the recording of all items in inventory, maintaining pertinent records and ensuring adequate treatment of fixed asset acquisitions and retirements.
  • Publishes weekly updates from weekly accounts receivable meetings.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.
